The replacement cycle of Flashback Arrestor is every 5 years and it needs to be checked once a year.
According to the International Ship Inspection Reporting Scheme (SIRE) and the British Compressed Gas Association CP7 guidelines, flashback arresters and pressure gauges should be replaced every 5 years and inspected annually. This is because the flame arrester inside the tempering preventer may be damaged due to “tempering” during long-term use, thereby weakening its protective mechanism and affecting safety performance.
In welding operations, flashback arresters are important safety devices that prevent flame backflow and must be regularly inspected and replaced to ensure the safety of welding operations. If problems are found with the tempering preventer during inspection, it should be replaced in a timely manner and cannot be continued to be used.
